About Schengen Days

Schengen Days is an independent travel tool for non-EU visitors who need to stay within the Schengen 90/180 rule. It is made by Univerum and is not affiliated with the European Union or any government.

How we calculate

The calculator and the app follow the method of the official European Commission short-stay calculator: for any date, every calendar day of presence in the previous 180 days is counted, and both the entry and the exit day count. We test the calculation against the Commission’s published worked examples.

Sources

Our guides are based on the Schengen Borders Code (Regulation (EU) 2016/399) and on official EU pages about the short-stay rules, the Entry/Exit System (EES) and ETIAS. Each guide lists its sources and the date it was last updated.

Limits

The results are for planning only and are not legal advice. Bilateral agreements, national visas and residence permits can change your situation — when in doubt, check with the official EU calculator or the consulate of the country you are visiting.
